DIMR – MBA faculty member – Prof. Shwetambari Patil conducted a session at Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Dubai.

The faculty member addressed and interacted with management students of Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Dubai.

The topic of session was – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Workplace from Global Prospect.

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) refers to practices and policies intended to support people who come from varying backgrounds and give them the resources they need to thrive in the workplace.

DEI frameworks take into account factors like race, gender and sexual orientation, so teams can find ways to help employees from marginalized groups succeed.

Diversity, equity and inclusion also known as (DEI) is popularly adopted and implemented as strategic act which has received a tremendous global significance. The benefits are – Higher employee retention, Strengthened recruitment, Exposure to more Innovation, Improved Business Outcome etc.

The session was helpful for students to understand the concept of DEI and its importance at global level as well as concept of cross culture and how it is beneficial in era of globalization.

DIMR encourages MBA faculties to regularly conducts and attend the international sessions, conferences and seminars.

Dubai International Study Tour – Industry Visit at Metito & Team Visuals

This international study tour facilitated the MBA Prime students to visit and to attend the session to institutions like the Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Dubai.  The sessions were conducted on the topics like global sustainability, world economy etc. by the native faculty members of Manipal University.

Moreover Prime students got anincredible opportunity to visit the industries such as METITO which is a biggest water salination plant in Middle East and TEAM VISUALS – a marketing company who works for world’s top notch brands like Apple.

MBA Prime students also visited Team Visual Solutions LLC in Dubai, a global powerhouse in visual merchandising.  From bespoken display to cutting edge signage, it was an amazing and impressive experience for students.

This study tour was an educational updation as well as cultural experiences including Ferrari World and Burj Khalifa.

This program aimed to provide MBA Prime students with a global perspective on industries and businesses, complementing the MBA curriculum. The UAE’s fast-paced economy, driven by oil and a diversified portfolio including tourism, logistics, and finance, makes it a prime location for learning about international business trends.

Cultural Exposure

The Global Immersion Program organized by DIMR to the United Arab Emirates from 23rd to 28th September 2024 offered to MBA – students, the opportunity to gain valuable insights into international business, culture, and industrial operations. The tour, spread across six days, covered industrial visits, academic sessions, and exposure to cultural landmarks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Cultural Experiences

In addition to academic and industrial learning, the trip facilitated the MBA -students to explore iconic landmarks:

  • Burj Khalifa: At 828 meters, it is the tallest building in the world. The visit emphasized Dubai’s focus on luxury and tourism.
  • Ferrari World: This theme park in Abu Dhabi showcased the UAE’s innovative approach to integrating entertainment with branding.
  • Desert Safari: A thrilling experience that immersed students in the local culture and tradition, capped by a barbeque dinner under the stars.
  • Dhow Dinner Cruise: Students enjoyed native food and cultural event.
