Utilizing Shrimad-Bhagavad-Gita

Using Bhagavad-Gita For Everyday Life

While studying in America, Shri. Samir Ganeshrao Dudhgaonkar during year 2002 had some rough experiences. Then he tried to find an answer to a question that came to his mind. Question about why a young man like myself, who always tried to do good things, is suffering that too even after being teetotaller, even after being nice to everyone. Instead of asking any human, thinking of asking God directly, Shri. Samir Dudhgaonkar started studying Shrimad- Bhagavad-Gita in July 2002. This is the story behind birth of God-focused Karmayogi Shrimad Bhagavad-Gita practitioner Shri. Samir Ganeshrao Dudhgaonkar…!!

And since then, based on the phenomenal thinking that he has learnt from Shrimad-Bhagwad-Gita, Samir has been working hard till today. Samir has honestly tried to work on this message given by God. Based on this study, this section is an attempt to share how interested readers can make Shrimad-Bhagavad-Gita useful in life.

Samir is an engineer so would like to explain by giving an example. ☺️

When Arjuna refused to fight in the Mahabharata, Shri Krishna taught the essence of life through Shrimad-Bhagavad-Gita. In the message given by the God to do the right thing, to protect Dharma, God Krishna said, “O Arjuna! If, however, you refuse to fight this righteous war, abandoning your social duty and reputation, you will certainly incur sin. People will speak of you as a coward and a deserter. For a respectable person, infamy is worse than death.

Corruption brings disrepute, defames. Defamation is worse than death is teaching of God. In today’s era, if every person lives with this thinking, then corruption, wrong things which hurt people will stop forever.

Another example:-

If you are having bad eating habits or you don’t exercise, it also costs damage to our economy. A news about this is given below:

Lifestyle diseases is a big issue as per WHO. We see that over 7 crore people are suffering due to NCD’s. The study titled Body Burden: Lifestyle Diseases‘ investigates the new and emerging environmental triggers of NCDs in India. According to the WHO, there are four major risk factors for NCDs; alcohol, tobacco, poor diet intake and lack of physical activity (with more daily free time for workforce after executing this concept, citizens can have better lifestyle habits). The number of overweight & obese people in India doubled between 2005 and 2015, while 26% of all deaths happen due to cardiovascular diseases. There were an estimated 22.2 million chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients & around 35 million chronic asthma patients in 2016,” as per study.

(These two diseases add up to over 7.22 cr people suffering due to lifestyle diseases).

“In macroeconomic term, most of the estimates suggest that the NCDs in India account for an economic burden in the range of 5–10% of GDP, which is significant and slowing down GDP thus hampering development.”

A shloka from Chapter 6, Verse 17 of Bhagvad-Gita says,

“Regulated eating, recreation, regulated work in discharging your duty, regulated dreaming and wakefulness through yoga diminishes pains.”

Having a balanced life is key to healthy life, to avoid non-communicable diseases. Doesn’t this above shared verse teach the secret to reducing pains?

Similarly, from time to time we intend to share with interested public, the teachings of Gita and help people prosper.
This is a small effort of public servant Samir Ganeshrao Dudhgaonkar.

#गीतासॅमसंग blog will share such Shrimad-Bhagvad-Gita verses that can be useful in daily life.
